Hello! My name is Courtney Ballman, and I am a graduating senior at Stockton University majoring in visual arts with a concentration in visual communications. I’m a passionate and dedicated graphic designer with a keen eye for detail and a love for bringing ideas to life through visual storytelling. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong foundation in design principles, visual communication, and creative problem-solving. My work spans various areas, including branding, logo design, package design, illustration, photography, printmaking, and digital design, with a particular interest in typography. I’ve always enjoyed the fun things you can do with type and how it can tell a story without even having to read the words.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a passion for art. I will never forget the days when I sat with my grandfather, doodling away with my pencil and paper. We’d laugh for hours at our silly pictures. That was the moment when I realized what art was made for: to make people happy and to tell a story, which is what visual communications is all about and what most of my work explores. My grandfather was always a big supporter of me and my work. He knew I was meant to be an artist. I have to admit I have not always been very confident in my work, but he was the one who pushed me to keep going and become a stronger designer. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for him, along with my supportive friends and family.

As I transition from student to professional, I’m excited to continue building on my skills and contribute to the design world with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. That said, I hope this portfolio brings you as much joy as it did to me creating it. Thank you!
